Kathy Hirtz grew up between strength and limitation. Her father, once ambitious and athletic, lost nearly everything to polio before she was born. Her mother did everything. She learned early that life is fragile—and moving forward is a choice.

Kathy Hirtz pursued medicine first, training in neurosurgery before building her own practice. But just one discipline was never enough. Horses followed. Then scuba diving. Then flight. What began as private pilot training evolved into competitive aerobatics, air shows, aircraft ownership, and the founding of an international flight training operation.

She flew barrel rolls around a full moon. She trained military pilots and police in air flight and spin recovery. She performed at air shows while still practicing medicine.

And when each chapter felt complete, she closed it—deliberately. Across medicine, aviation, competition, partnership, and loss, one pattern remained: Commit fully, master risk, then move forward.

This is the story of a life built through discipline, precision, and a refusal to remain still.

But then, nothing different will occur if that is our daily routine. It is only when we change something: our routine, our thinking, our expectations, that we grow as human beings. So, it is good to push beyond our comfort zones, whatever they may be. Why? Because otherwise, we become inflexible. When we stop growing, we grow old. Growing “old” can also mean being unable to accept new ideas, and

Never Give Up!

Never Give Up! An old expression: “It’s always darkest, before the dawn”, could apply to many situations. It could speak about how someone feels, just before a breakup or a breakthrough: your feelings, your situation, your hopes, dreams, expectations. It doesn’t matter what – the pattern is the same. News often carries the story of a tragedy. Then, you discover that the accused had something happen just before they performed an awful act: they were fired, rejected, bullied, abandoned . . . the list goes on and on. It begs the question: did they not have an emotional anchor to help them through their darkest moments…just before they reacted negatively? Where do you get such an anchor…and what is it, really? Emotions, I believe, are
